House of Milk and Honey!
My kids are doing great! I think parasites was a huge part of the problem. This last full moon the kids were awesome and there was no fall apart like the last full moon. Shaye's breathing is much better probably not 100% but getting there. Simeon's skin is still slowing getting better. Mood wise there's been tons of improvement, except for me. I'm sick of eating almond flour and meat. I really want grains. We do get to add in honey though and everyone seems to be doing well with that. Also the big one this week is milk! Raw wonderful milk! Life is better with milk and everyone is doing great with it.

So I lied...
We're not going backward on the diet anymore. We're maintaining and adding in a little here and there. Right now, the kids can do some raw fruit and some raw veggies!
Shaye it doing awesome and her poop is looking great! Is that weird to become a poop looker? Really I look at the kids poop to be able to tell where they are at with absorbing food and how things are moving. Shaye use to be the runny side but not she's looking normal and healthy! Her cheeks aren't as red as they use to be and her breathing as improved very well. She doesn't stop breathing at night anymore either! By breathing better at night she sleeps more and deeper and wakes up happier! How cool is that!?
Simeon is doing well too, his face will still break out a little when he gets food on it though. He's had a runny nose all week with big green boogers, I don't think he's sick but I'm not sure what it's about unless it's another round of detox. He's definately eating more in volumn but not so much in variety. It's hard to keep enough stuff around that he can eat. He's also put on 2 lbs in the last 2 months! I find myself saying "grow baby grow!" I hope he's caught up with his growth by the time he's 3. His balance is still a little off and he keeps hitting his head in the same place almost daily. Is that what you call a permabruise?
I did make a Orange Vanilla cake with coconut flour for Brent's b-day tomorrow. It's the first treat we've made in months. However dates have been a very sweet treat and readily enjoyed at our house, especially with peacans-YUM!

Going good
We tried some applesauce the other day and diarrhea for both children ensued. On the flip side we now know that we're dealing with some persistent parasites with the children and probably myself. We're using some homeopathy right now for them and are seeing good results. I guess we'll really know when the next full moon comes around. All chaos breaks loose at my house about 3 days before the full moon until a day after the full moon.
Besides more runny poop and worms we're really are doing well. Everyone is slowly improving and starting to normalize a little bit. Brent has decided that he's doing better then the rest of use and has added raw fruits and veggies (good choice for his mood's sake). More laughing and less crying is happening and that's always a good thing.

Easter Candy
I couldn't be more proud! When we got down the Easter eggs Shaye found a bunch of candy from last year. She was pretty excited and said, "Ooo, Look Mom!" And I said that's garbage and so took it and threw it all away!
No crying, no second guessing, just threw it away and started playing with the eggs and was happy as a clam!
Freedom from candy! How cool it that?!
Still on Stage 4 and going back
I think we're just about ready to move onto stage 3. We still have a lot of mucous, Shaye, Simeon and myself. I'm not sure if that's just the way our bodies are deciding to rid itself of toxins or what just I'm sick of green snot.
I've also been looking into a zapper. I know that all three of us are dealing with parasites and I'm wondering if the zapper will make the detox process a little smoother and easier on the body. It's suppose to breakdown the parasites, mold, bacteria and virus so that your body and get rid of them easier and not have such a die off reaction. Plus the added bonus that it kills all of that stuff. The down side is that it probably kills the good bacteria as well. More research is needed on my part but I'm leaning towards giving it a try.
The kids have a doctors appointment on the 4th and I'm excited to see what we come up. Simeon's face is looking great, just a few patches! Shaye's checks aren't as red, but her breathing is still labored. Brent's allergies are coming on with the warmer weather, but he says they're not as bad as they have been. I guess we'll just keep looking for miracles!

Snot and the Grouchies
This weekend has not been fun on some accounts. Shaye and me and been pouring snot. I'm pretty sure someone needs to figure out a way to use the stuff so we could make a killing! Brent was really grouchy especially by the end of the day. He's doing better with that but eats everything in site! I can't keep up with cooking he eats so much. Simeon's been living off of Liver meatballs and Shaye refuses to eat anything but fruit. It's been a rough patch. I'm hoping to have the fruit cut out by tomorrow and maybe she'll give in to eating some soup.
I think Shaye's been hit really hard with die off and I'm hoping it will wear off in a week or so. Simeon's face is starting to settle down. I'm hoping to get a zapper in the mail to help with his parasites. I think everyone in the family is going to be using the Zapper. What fun!
Well, I am hopeful that this next week will be a little smother and if not than I'll hope that the week after that will be smother :).

Huddle and Break
Ok new plan. We're going to start on stage 4 or 5 of the intro diet and then work our selves backward to stage 1 and then go from there. Hopefully by working backward we will have die off slowly and not kill ourselves in the process. I know a lot of people just push through the symptoms but I have to still be able to nurse and I can't be puking while my three year old is puking.
So starting Friday we're all going to be on probably stage 4 and we'll just sit at that stage for a while until we've made it through the die off.
I did find a neat site that explained some of the die and symptoms that happen during the intro diet. I was amazed at how well it fit into everything we were experiencing in just 2 days!
Well, we're off to see if we can't at least make a first down.

Crash and Burn!
Well, I woke up this morning barely able to pull myself out of bed. I had no energy and trying to lift the baby out of the crib was a little scary. Then Shaye and I started to throw-up over and over again this morning.
Needless to say the GAPS diet didn't happen today. After eating an apple the puke quit and I made us some eggs.
I think we're just too toxic and probably need to start slower into the introduction diet. We've been on the full GAPS diet for about 3 months and I experienced similar effects for about 1 month. But the fatigue was a little more extreme. Trying to nurse and keep up my calories and carbohydrates is a challenge.
So Brent decided that he's going to stay on the Intro diet and the rest of us are going to slow down and start cutting out foods a little at a time and introduce broth more slowly. We've been eating fermented foods for several months so I don't think that's the problem but maybe.
I'm trying to do more research to see what other people think and say about the GAPS diet and their experiences.

So far so good...almost.
Well Shaye woke up this morning and raided the kitchen and found some raisins. She totally stocked up before I was able to get to her. Oh well, we did all drink broth and have some chicken soup. I plan on making butternut squash soup with chicken to dip into for dinner and hopefully some boiled carrots and cauliflower with fat and salt for lunch. That's the plan but it just might end up that we just eat soup for all three meals.
I thought I was more prepared but I'm not. I need way more veggies then I thought. I'm having Brent buy more at the store today and hopefully we'll have enough to get through the week. I also wish that I had packed up the kitchen the night before.
On the plus side, bribing with money still works! She get's money for drinking broth, for eating soup, and for not taking the treats on Sunday. She's bought almost all of the furniture that came with the doll house. I think I'm going to make her save up 20 quarter to buy the doll house.
I'm trying to decide what toys to buy next. She really likes coloring books, I thought beeswax crayons would be cool, she really likes her garden so little windmills and garden decor might be fun too. At any rate I need to try and keep the things she buys cheap and obtainable on a daily basis for her little attitude to keep up.

Starting the Introduction!
We start officially the introduction diet tomorrow! I'm a little nervous to see how Shaye responds to no more raisins or bananas or milk or anything that might bring happiness :).
I've got soup made and broth cooking and I'm going to make butternut squash soup in the morning and hopefully the next several months will work out.
I also had the stark realization that life is going to get harder. My brother just got engaged and is planning on getting married in May. We're going to the wedding here in Utah but I don't think we're going to make it to the reception just because of the whole food thing. I'm not sure if I could pack enough food and snacks and things like that. Anyway, I know it's going to be hard the next while but I also know it's going to be well worth it.
On the plus side...Simeon's face is looking awesome! His eczema is almost gone, he itches rarely throughout the day and he's starting the walk. If these are the kind of miracles I see on just the full GAPS diet I'm really excited to see what happens on the Introduction GAPS diet! I'm excepting Shaye's breathing and dry skin to dramatically improve also I except Simeon and Shaye to start growing! How fun will it be to see that my children are healthy enough to grow!
